Our annual CDSOA Narragansett Bay Rendezvous will be held Friday July 17th through Sunday July 19th. REGISTRATION, VIA CDSOA WEBSITE, IS FOR SAT DINNER COUNT. The event begins on Block Island Friday night graciously hosted by Block Island Community Sailing (BICS) with a fun fleet race Saturday morning to Jamestown TPG Conanicut Marina. Dinner will be held at BEECH restaurant in Jamestown on Saturday at 430 pm, and we will depart on Sunday July 19th. The event is being coordinated by Joe Gabriel and Henry duPont.
Friday July 17th:BICS welcomes the Cape Dory Narragansett Bay Cruise participants for an overnight stop in New Harbor (The Great Salt Pond) on Block Island. BICS will reserve private moorings for participating yachts with prior notice, or you can reserve a slip at the New Harbor Boat Basin (www.newharborboatbasin.com). BICS will organize a Beach Picnic or a dinner at the Oar Restaurant, both located right at the Boat Basin.
Saturday July 18th Day: The fleet will sail from Block Island to Jamestown, BICS will organize an informal day race with a start off “R2” the Great Salt Pond Entrance Buoy and finishing off “G1” the Jamestown Harbor Chanel Entrance Buoy, (21.2 nm) with the start being in plenty of time to allow for a timely arrival in Jamestown. This will include a formal “Notice of Race” and “Sailing Instructions” available in May, as well as an event website for participating yacht registration, race information, and scoring. The race will use Performance Handicap Racing Fleet (PHRF) scoring.
Saturday July 18th Evening:For those arriving by boat, moorings can be reserved using Dockwa, TPG Conanicut Marina. For those arriving by car, there is ample parking in downtown Jamestown. Dinner will be at the BEECH restaurant, same as last year, starting at 430 pm. There is no advance cost.
